Resignations reached 100 mark – Centre is stable

Telangana MLA resignations reached 100 mark in Andhra Pradesh with the TRS, CPI and BJP  joining the league of resignations.

I would like to summarize the developments took place in New Delhi and Andhra Pradesh.

1) High command warned resigned Congress representatives by claiming they have trapped in padmayvuha. But, they are still continuing the consultations without making any progress.

2) Chidamabaram ruled out the possibility of  imposing presidential rule in Andhra Pradesh by sending a signal that central govt is not likely to take any risk at this chaotic juncture. He stressed for the importance of consultations and dailogues.

3) National media gave much importance to the political developments regarding Telangana. They says that bubble is burst and it is time for to take appropriate decision.

4) Manda Krishna Madiga meeting with Jagan made another political development in Andhra Pradesh. Soon after the meeting,  he attacked on political parties citing that they have do  not any plans for the welfare and role of scheduled castes in the supposed Telangana state.

A new questioned posed in political circles, what Manda Krishna have discussed  with Jagan. Why Manda Krishna came forward to media after a long gap, just after meeting with Jagan.

5) Political forces in Seemandhra awakened and cautiously watching the developments. They have made all the necessary arrangements to pose a counter movement in protest of Telangana.  No information is available, what Lagadapati have had discussed with Pranab.

6) Government officers NGO’s and student organizations in Telangana announced a rout map to intensify the movement of Telangana by doing mass movements, rail rokos, gheraos etc. According to the reliable sources, Telangana employee associations are  likely to announce pen down or indefinite strike in couple of days.

7) As usual, Chandra Babu went to under curtain. He could not make single statement on the latest political developments.  Kiran Kumar Reddy was flabbergasted and preferred not to make any comment. He just handed over the entire scene to Congress High Command.

Another two eye theory

Y S Jaganmohana Reddy, president of the newly born YSR congress party, is adopted the similar approach of Chandra Babu two eye theory and congress chaotic handling.  Jagan says,  in the party plenary meeting at Idupulaya, YSR congress party is understood the the Telangana sentiment and its intensity among the masses.  He says,  YSR congress is not in a position to give or to obstruct the Telangana state.

People of Telangana and Seemandhra regions were anxious to know the party stand of YSR Congress, they were in a hope Jagan will announce a clear and lucid stand unlike Chandrababu and congress. Jagan words shattered their dreams and hopes. Jagan  was cautious and calculative in using the terminology when he was  describing his party stand on Telangana.  He did not make clear whether his YSR congress party  will support or denounce  Telangana state.

Now, it is pretty clear,  Jagan has  joined the bandwagon of  conventional political parties which have been politicizing the very essential issue for their electoral interests in the respective regions.

An interesting twist is Jagan admonished Chandra babu and Congress party for their indecisiveness regarding Telangana. Jagan must realize  whether he has moral right to criticize the respective political parties as he himself emerged another indecisive creature in Andhra Pradesh politics.

We are not in a position to give Telangana or stop Telangana. But YSR Congress respects Telangana sentiment. It is responsibility of the Central government to give a solution satisfying all sections because the power to make a new state also lies only with the Central government.

–  Y.S Jagan Mohan Reddy, President, YSR Congress Party

Ideology deviated ?

Parakala Prabhakar, political unemployee who came of out from praja rajyam party, found solace in organising workshops and seminars in ‘vishalandhra mahasabha’  which founded in the last month. No matter is available, till now, who has funded this organisation. But, the organisation has succesfully attracted the intellctual faces including K.P.S Gill, Kuldeep Nayyar and Sanjaya Baru.

Parakala Prabhakar, alumni of prestigious London School of Economics, has entered politics by joining Congress. Later, he has served in BJP, TDP and PRP. He could not get a mp  seat in PRP.  He made a foul cry on PRP by referring it as  ‘piosonous tree’ by showing his anguish for not getting ticket.

Before joining PRP,  he used to host the famous TV programme  pratidwani which has acclaimed positive reports and feedback from the different sections. After his political debacle in PRP, he has again tried to test his luck as anchor, but the attempt remained wild goose chase.

Dual standards of Parakala

Parakala was with BJP, when it made a resolution of  ‘oka votu rendu rastraalu’.  But, no information is available which suggests Parakala objected with the BJP decision of  favoring seperate state to Telangana. During his tenure as Chief Spokes Person in PRP, he made numerous statements supporting the cause of Telangana state.

“We want the State to be divided like brothers in a family. We respect the ‘atma gouravam’ and ‘atma abhimanam’ of the Telangana people and we said we will never come in the way if separation is necessary”

– Parakala as a PRP  chief spokes person

Why such mediocrity, dual standards and opportunism presents in Parakala, I could not understand.  He did not utter a single word/statement against Telangana when he had been to various political parties and as a popular anchor. Did money make such strategic ideological shift in Parakala?

“The BJP stand on the matter is very clear from the beginning. We have taken one line on Telengana that in 1997 BJP had passed a resolution on bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. BJP has always been in favour of smaller states. It is in favour of Telengana”

Nirmala Sitharaman, Spokes person, BJP

An interesting aspect about Parakala is, his wife Nirmala Sitaraman is acting as spokes person of Bharatiya Janatha Party which raising the slogan of  Telangana state at national level. How can Parakala convince other people despite his own wife is indirectly supporting the Telangana state ? Parakala can only answer the inevitable and pertinent question.

Sri Sri Ideology – some contemporary issues

Sri Sri aka Sri Rangam Srinivasa Rao, the most sensational poet who heralded the Marxist aesthetic thought in Telugu literature, has made indelible impression among the modern Telugu writers. But, interestingly,  very  few modern writers have tried to project the Sri Sri  legacy in contemporary main stream media.

In this work, I have tried to explain Sri Sri Ideology on some contemporary social issues and the controversies.

Sri Sri, unlike Chalam, could not try to project the problems of Indian women in his articles and books. Some literary experts opine, Sri Sri has made some  derogatory remarks on women in his autobiography.   Interestingly, Chalam, a women lover, made  a great impact on feminist writers and  dalit writers than Sri Sri works.

But, Chalam, another great social  revolutionary writer who fought against male chauvinism,  casteism and religious fundamentalism, later found solace in the companionship of  great mystic Ramana Maharshi. He gave up revolutionary writing and settled in Tiruvannamalai, abode of Ramana Maharshi spiritual empire.  His later life irked some feminists and communist writers who used to  treat Chalam as a great revolutionary writer on par with Sri Sri. Chalam retirement from revolutionary writing and baptism of spirituality   made Sri Sri as the only champion of modern Telugu revolutionary writing. But, still, Telugu feminist writers have no qualms to  hail the contribution of Chalam who  projected the true picture of women and societal hypocrisy.

Sri Sri was the founder president of  Virasam (viplava rachayithala sangham), a revolutionary poets organization which split from Arasam ( abyudaya rachayithala sangam) due to the great debate among  revolutionary progressive writers. Arasam supports communistic socialism while Virasam supports the revolutionary communism. Though Sri Sri was actively participated in Virasam, he could not upheld Virasam stand of  supporting ‘Telangana’ and ‘Jai Andhra movements’. Some Telangana poets allege,  Sri Sri was timid to  injustice done to the Telangana people.

Another criticism on Sri Sri is his staunch support to the emergency rule of Indira gandhi. He wrote several articles in praise of  Indira Gandhi and Jalagam Vengala Rao for their brutal stands to curb people social democratic movements. Some scholars opine, Sri Sri acted as a traditional Indian communist but not as a universal communist of Marx legacy. Like typical Indian communist parties, Sri Sri may have done historical blunders. But, his stand on emergency is a blot on his marathon revolutionary poetic career, which cannot be deleted in history. But, we should remember, later Sri Sri regretted for his blunder.

Sri Sri, who is said to be  inspired from western communistic literature but not from Indian experiences of socialism, hardly described the essence of dalit and women empowerment in his bulk of works. Some revolutionary poets, particularly of  Telangana and Dalit origin, criticize Sri Sri writings by claiming they are for bourgeoisie, above middle class and  elite rich people but not for common people.

Sri Sri had also committed mistakes by supporting emergency in 1975, but later he had regretted this,”

Some facts about Sanjaya Baru

Who is Sanjaya Baru ? This question has raised among Telangana people when he made a statement against the cause of Telangana at  Vishalandhra Mahasabha workshop at New Delhi organised by so called intellectual Parakala  Prabhakar.

Sanjaya Baru,  native of Hyderabad  , is an eminent economist who has done his post graduation and PHD  from the prestigious JNU. His Father B P R Vithal was finance secretary of Andhra Pradesh. Vithal is a renowned expert on Centre-state relations, and worked for some time as an IMF fiscal expert and a member of the Tenth Finance Commission (1992-94).

Baru is the present Chief Editor of the famous financial daily Business Standard. He has a served as chief media adviser for the former Prime minister P.V Narasimha Rao and present prime minister Manmohan Singh.  He has tried at best to project Manmohan Singh as Mr. Clean and the most intellectual genius in media by his special methods of media management. Chief  opposition NDA made numerous criticisms and allegations on baru for his deliberate attempts to focus singh.

In an article (Telugu or Telangana, March 29,2004,Indian Express), Baru claimed that he  has participated in the Seperate Telangana agitation during 1970 at the streets of Narayana Guda and Himayath Nagar. Interestingly, Baru father and grand father hailed from Maharashtra and settled in Hyderabad.  But, Baru could not clearly explain why he has shifted his voice.

Sanjaya Bharu is said to be against Telangana state due to his exclusive concern on economic progress and growth of Hyderabad. He says,  some areas in Telangana witnessed massive development on par with top metro cities in India despite  few areas are under developed. According to Baru, proper solution on Telangana could affect the growth, investments in Hyderabad, according to Bharu. He wrote an article titled  ‘Hyderabad needs a united Andhra Pradesh’  in Financial Express (April 23, 2004) which drew flak from Telangana economists and sociologists.

Baru must not have followed his father Vithal articles and works. In various ocassions, Vithal admonished state government for not seeking revival of the Telangana Regional Committee that envisaged a separate budget for the region. Vithal says in his  working Paper on Telangana Surpluses, the budget representing Telangana was surplus comparing to seemandhra region. He also advocated that, during the tenure of 1970-1973, Telangana regional council planning and activities fetched positive economic results.

We can estimate, how Baru has managed, manipulated and influenced  Manmohan Singh as a  Chief Media Adviser regarding Telangana. Bharu incident highlighted how some top bureaucrats have been influencing Prime Minister Office regarding the decision making of  Telangana.

Justice compromised – 1

History repeated, rights and welfare of the common people ignored in the hall of court premises. Parents of Ayesha Meera dejected, deceived, mocked and fooled at so called temple of justice in the hands of money, political power and corruption…

From the very morning on Judgement day, media shifted its focus from Telangana issue, Jagan consolation tour and Commonwealth games to Ayesha murder verdict. All the news channels started discussions and debates on the issue to compete one on another.

They have tried to contact parents of deceased Ayesha, who could not control their emotions and tears. Ayesha father was almost collapsed unable to express words with media.Yes, media captured that pathetic scene and repeatedly broad casted through out the day to keep the momentum of viewership, they have succeeded.

Satyam Babu, an innocent teen, sentenced to life imprisonment claiming he was caused Ayesha Meera to brutal rape and death..

Human rights organisations and various women welfare pressure groaps, including the family members of Ayesha Meera, condemned the verdict and claimed several valid proofs have been vanished in the last three years inorder to protect the grandson of the leading politician of Guntur district and made Satyam Babu as scape goat.

I wonder, can we expect similar inquiry and verdict if this rape and murder occurred to the girl from the families of YSR, CBN and KCR ?

News channels may stop coverage of this issue in couple of days, people may forget in couple of months…

New blog post on different subject/context would be updated in this website..

We are here to speak and witness, not to act.

Irony of Indian hypocrisy…

Anarchic pradesh

Democracy has been mocked and its very foundations have been devastated in Andhra Pradesh. Telangana state issue triggered political chaos and instability by dividing the entire state into regions and sub regions including students, politicians and elite intellectuals.

Law and order, administration, works have been kept under pending by driving the state into stagnation. Hyderabad, once called as icon of cosmopolitanism, turned as center of xenophobia. Central and state governments utterly failed to handle the situation smoothly and gently by releasing tens of contradictory official statement from union home minsitry. Their reckless behavior made the situation worst and uncontrollable.Politicians from same political party orchestrating different stages at two different regions provoking and fooling the people by contanstly changing their views and ideas.

Universities of Telangana region have been playing crucial role in leading the separate state agitation by moving politicians into secondary role. State government has been trying to suppress movement ant any cost by pressurizing University vice chancellors to conduct examinations which could side side track the attention and concentration of students from Telangana agitation to exams. Still now, more than five times, exams have been postponed due to the heavy flak from students who are reluctant to take part in exams untill Telangana issue resolved.

Govt made nefarious designs to break down the movement by sending wrong signals to central government and intelligence departments claiming  Maoists and anti social elements entered movement in the guise of students. Solution for Telangana puzzle may not be sought in single night due to the limitations of democracy and its applicability in multicultural and diversified India. We cannot expect an instant solution to this tricky conundrum. Government and Police department started targeting student leaders and active agitators by imprisoning them into custody by booking baseless and needless sections. Brutal lati charges have been orchestrated by police men in osmania universitiy and Kakatiya university by man handling the students at any cost by questioning the validity of human rights. Telangana turned as a police state. Whatever the reactions, nefarious designs and plans made by Government and Police authorities to dislocate Telangana movement would make situation much worst. We cannot expect restoration of peace in near future as long as autocratic Government fails to understand the aspirations and sentiments of  tens of millions of people.

Is it a historical decision or drama ?

Telangana_300

Heat of the Telangana is reaching at zenith stage after Telangana Congress MLA’s  decided to tender their resignation on July 4th in protest of  central govt improper response on the slogan of Telangana state..

Telangana  congress representatives decision triggered a plethora of questions, confusion and utter chaos among Andhra Pradesh political circles..

But, normal Telangana people are not in a position to trust the words of  Telangana congress MLA’s words. Cos, they have already made a similar drama on resignations in December 2009. But, they had to bow their head to Delhi congress high command political tactics and strategies of dragging the Telangana slogan by keep on dragging the dead lines.

Last week, KCR made a surprise negotiations with Congress men with almost five hours. Media doesn’t have the exact information what they have had discussed. At every one surprise, congress anounced a historical decision that they will resign for their seats in Assembly. Immediately, within a span of minutes, TDP anounced they will follow the path of congress representatives.

Rebel group of  Nagam janardhan reddy  ( comprises Harishwar Reddy, Venugaopala Chary) made a step forward and resigned their seats in the whee hours of today. This move would pester the congress and TDP representatives. They have no choice other than resigning or to face the wrath of Telangana people. Nagam group made a great decision heralding the series of resignations.

What would happen tomorrow? I would like to draw two possible outcomes which may happen in coming months.

1) Sonia Gandhi may announce all party meeting in the month end. This would appease the congress MLA’s temporarily. But, Telangana people are not in a position to accept any decision other than Telangana state. They lost interest in negotiations, committees and lobbying.

2) Central Government may impose presidential rule to give a proper reply to all the representatives of Seemandhra- Telangana representatives.

Let us see, my predictions will materialize or not 🙂
