Resignations reached 100 mark – Centre is stable

Telangana MLA resignations reached 100 mark in Andhra Pradesh with the TRS, CPI and BJP  joining the league of resignations.

I would like to summarize the developments took place in New Delhi and Andhra Pradesh.

1) High command warned resigned Congress representatives by claiming they have trapped in padmayvuha. But, they are still continuing the consultations without making any progress.

2) Chidamabaram ruled out the possibility of  imposing presidential rule in Andhra Pradesh by sending a signal that central govt is not likely to take any risk at this chaotic juncture. He stressed for the importance of consultations and dailogues.

3) National media gave much importance to the political developments regarding Telangana. They says that bubble is burst and it is time for to take appropriate decision.

4) Manda Krishna Madiga meeting with Jagan made another political development in Andhra Pradesh. Soon after the meeting,  he attacked on political parties citing that they have do  not any plans for the welfare and role of scheduled castes in the supposed Telangana state.

A new questioned posed in political circles, what Manda Krishna have discussed  with Jagan. Why Manda Krishna came forward to media after a long gap, just after meeting with Jagan.

5) Political forces in Seemandhra awakened and cautiously watching the developments. They have made all the necessary arrangements to pose a counter movement in protest of Telangana.  No information is available, what Lagadapati have had discussed with Pranab.

6) Government officers NGO’s and student organizations in Telangana announced a rout map to intensify the movement of Telangana by doing mass movements, rail rokos, gheraos etc. According to the reliable sources, Telangana employee associations are  likely to announce pen down or indefinite strike in couple of days.

7) As usual, Chandra Babu went to under curtain. He could not make single statement on the latest political developments.  Kiran Kumar Reddy was flabbergasted and preferred not to make any comment. He just handed over the entire scene to Congress High Command.

Another two eye theory

Y S Jaganmohana Reddy, president of the newly born YSR congress party, is adopted the similar approach of Chandra Babu two eye theory and congress chaotic handling.  Jagan says,  in the party plenary meeting at Idupulaya, YSR congress party is understood the the Telangana sentiment and its intensity among the masses.  He says,  YSR congress is not in a position to give or to obstruct the Telangana state.

People of Telangana and Seemandhra regions were anxious to know the party stand of YSR Congress, they were in a hope Jagan will announce a clear and lucid stand unlike Chandrababu and congress. Jagan words shattered their dreams and hopes. Jagan  was cautious and calculative in using the terminology when he was  describing his party stand on Telangana.  He did not make clear whether his YSR congress party  will support or denounce  Telangana state.

Now, it is pretty clear,  Jagan has  joined the bandwagon of  conventional political parties which have been politicizing the very essential issue for their electoral interests in the respective regions.

An interesting twist is Jagan admonished Chandra babu and Congress party for their indecisiveness regarding Telangana. Jagan must realize  whether he has moral right to criticize the respective political parties as he himself emerged another indecisive creature in Andhra Pradesh politics.

We are not in a position to give Telangana or stop Telangana. But YSR Congress respects Telangana sentiment. It is responsibility of the Central government to give a solution satisfying all sections because the power to make a new state also lies only with the Central government.

–  Y.S Jagan Mohan Reddy, President, YSR Congress Party

Ideology deviated ?

Parakala Prabhakar, political unemployee who came of out from praja rajyam party, found solace in organising workshops and seminars in ‘vishalandhra mahasabha’  which founded in the last month. No matter is available, till now, who has funded this organisation. But, the organisation has succesfully attracted the intellctual faces including K.P.S Gill, Kuldeep Nayyar and Sanjaya Baru.

Parakala Prabhakar, alumni of prestigious London School of Economics, has entered politics by joining Congress. Later, he has served in BJP, TDP and PRP. He could not get a mp  seat in PRP.  He made a foul cry on PRP by referring it as  ‘piosonous tree’ by showing his anguish for not getting ticket.

Before joining PRP,  he used to host the famous TV programme  pratidwani which has acclaimed positive reports and feedback from the different sections. After his political debacle in PRP, he has again tried to test his luck as anchor, but the attempt remained wild goose chase.

Dual standards of Parakala

Parakala was with BJP, when it made a resolution of  ‘oka votu rendu rastraalu’.  But, no information is available which suggests Parakala objected with the BJP decision of  favoring seperate state to Telangana. During his tenure as Chief Spokes Person in PRP, he made numerous statements supporting the cause of Telangana state.

“We want the State to be divided like brothers in a family. We respect the ‘atma gouravam’ and ‘atma abhimanam’ of the Telangana people and we said we will never come in the way if separation is necessary”

– Parakala as a PRP  chief spokes person

Why such mediocrity, dual standards and opportunism presents in Parakala, I could not understand.  He did not utter a single word/statement against Telangana when he had been to various political parties and as a popular anchor. Did money make such strategic ideological shift in Parakala?

“The BJP stand on the matter is very clear from the beginning. We have taken one line on Telengana that in 1997 BJP had passed a resolution on bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. BJP has always been in favour of smaller states. It is in favour of Telengana”

Nirmala Sitharaman, Spokes person, BJP

An interesting aspect about Parakala is, his wife Nirmala Sitaraman is acting as spokes person of Bharatiya Janatha Party which raising the slogan of  Telangana state at national level. How can Parakala convince other people despite his own wife is indirectly supporting the Telangana state ? Parakala can only answer the inevitable and pertinent question.

saffron fading?

Is saffron charisma lost its credibility among poor and down trodden? Did congress attract this mass from Hindutva to development raaga? BJP’s and its alliance debacle at Parliament elections and the latest assembly polls of Maharashtra, Haryana and Arunachal Pradesh raised plethora of questions regarding the role of saffron parties in mainstream politics. This victory signifies BJP’s inability and incapability of turning anti incumbancy in the form of votes due to Raj Thackeray’s foul play of splitting Hindu nationalistic vote bank.

Myriad of inner dimensions have been associated with the failure of BJP besides Raj Thackeray influence. I would like to recall some of them.

1) BJP’s lack of leadership and span of command.

2) Lack of organisition and co operation among saffron parties.

3) Great debate among hindu nationalistic intellectuals regarding  Jinnah’s role in Indian freedom struggle and his commitment to secularism ( I wonder how far Jinnah related to contemporary Indian nationalism).

4) Lack of proper campaigning

5) People still in the hangover of congress stupendous victory at parliament elections and the role of NREGS and Loan waiver schemes in middle class families.

Pertinent questions to raise:

1) will BJP  appoint new leader for Loksabha?

2) will BJP pose a new prime ministerial candidate instead of Adwani?

3) Will BJP  give up the “Great Debate” on Jinnah role?

4) Will BJP ready to give up “Ram mandir” slogan ?

5) will BJP restructure its committees to give oxygen to the saffron movement.

Kancha Ilaiah- Dalit Idealogue

kancha Ilaiah, Professor of political science of Osmania University, is considered as as part of influential trinity(Kancha Ilaiah,Bojja Taarakam and Katti Padma rao) who strive progressive Dalit movement and politics in Andhra Pradesh. There is a wide belief among general public that Kancha Ilaiah has dalit background but he hailed from OBC of “Golla” caste. Despite his scholarly experience in political science, he came to lime light with historical research papers and strong criticisms on Brahmanism, higher castes and Hindus. He is enough proud to consider himself as anti Hindu. He baptized Buddhism and wrote several research papers on buddhist history and philosophy.

His famous work “why iam not a hindu” acclaimed positive and negative responses from intellectual and scholars from different parts of the world. Some eminent historians like Romilla Thapar tagged Ilaiah as a pseudo historian who approached several fictions to dalit history and thoughts. According to Ilaiah, Hinduism is nothing but a Brahmanism which done a massive cultural destruction of backward classes and dalits. He urges for the need of literacy among dalits and backword classes.Being a Dalit sympathizer, He staunchly supports the candidacy of Mayawathi for prime minister of India by calling Marxists to support her. ” Hindusim is the only religion in which gods wear destructible weapons and tries to justify the bloody violence” says Kancha ilaiah in several interviews.

Gandhism and its legacy

Mohan Das Karam Chand Gandhi, most popular name of modern India and also refer as a Father of Nation, made indelible impression among millions of Indians with his weapons of non violence and truth. I have read his autobiography which was written in excellent english and signifies his writing capabilities. It was ” Lage raho Ho Munna Bhai” revived the essence of Gandhism and non violence at this very age of violence.

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was born in Porbandar on 2 October 1869 in Hindu Modh community. His father was the diwan (Prime Minister) of the eponymous Porbander state. At the age of 13 Mohandas was married to 14-year old Kasturbai in traditional arranged marriage. Later, he moved to England for the completion of Law. Later came back to India and left for south Africa for practicing Law. Gandhiji was actively participated in the Civil rights movement in South Africa for the protection of Indians and black’s rights. Gandhi had been inspired by American Henry Thoreau civil disobedience movement and made a great mark.

Gandhiji arrived India at 1915 and is said to be avid follower of Gokhale, famous congress moderate. We should observe the structure of congress party before Gandhi became active at mainstream politics. Extremist wing comprises Tilak, B.C Pal, Lajapath rai, Sri Aurobindo were the leading forces of Indian freedom struggle. Interesting aspect is this people were highly inspired by Hindu vedanta and tried to mix the concept of Indian freedom struggle with Mystified vedanta. There was a crisis between moderates and extremists whether to opt violence or non violence for the congress party stand in liberation of India. After political retirement of Sri Aurobindo, Tilak’s incarceration at Burma weakened Extremists attempts.

Gandhiji captured congress and implemented strategies in a non violent methods and he was succeeded for getting freedom for India. But Gandhiji’s attitude towards Bhagat Singh, Subash Chandra Bose and Ambedkar are enough controversial in Indian history. Historians opine, Gandhiji could have escape Bhagat Singh from hanged to death by negotiating with Britishers. Mild response observed among congress moderates even after the brutal death of Bhagath Singh and desecration to his body by the tyranny Britishers. Subash chandra Bose was elected as Indian National Congress president in 1939 tripura session by defeating Pattabi Seeta Ramayya who was supported by Gandhi and Nehru with a huge margin. Congress seniors and Gandhian supporters were reluctant to extend co operation to Netaji. Netaji had to quit office and from presidentship of INC. Later Netaji resigned from congress and fled away to Japan via Germany in a miraculous heroic escape. Gandhiji even called parents not to send their children for the recruitment of Netaji’s INA  (Indian National Army). Despite having ideological difference with Gandhi, Netaji didn’t hesitate to praise the heroism and credibility of Gandhi by referring him as a “MAHATMA” in radio  which used to broadcast from Germany.
