Odyssey – My first victory

I did my matriculation from Gorkey Public School, Khammam. Due to some health and personal problems, I hardly attended school during my 10th class. I would like to share funny instance for the testimony of my irregularity.

We were asked to attend Maths special class daily at 7 AM taught by Principal Radha Krishna. I along with my friend Srinivas didnt care his commands. One day, he specially warned me and my dear friend that we must attend maths special class. We were attending with a great Herculean task. Maths sir attended class and started lesson. He was surprised to see me and my friend in Maths class. He has started a series of questions on Cos,Sin etc. to us.. Our faces were turned as question marks. Sudden laughs and pranks broken across class. we too exhibited an inscrutable smile at Radha Krishna’s questions. He has raised another great question, “Guys, at least can u say what chapter is related to my aforesaid questions?”. ūüėõ

I have managed to pass 10th class with modest 70%. I had to work out on subjects like Social, Maths and English for APRJC Entrance test during summer. I have done a blunder mistake by not pasting stamps to my APRJC form. Prior to 1 week before the commencement of entrance test, I was very sure that I would not receive hall ticket . I had attended marriage at Narsampet and have had fun at my Aunt’s house along with my brother in law on the day before exam. My brother telephoned me and said hall ticket mailed at my surprise. I had to rush for Khammam on that night without any hesitation. I have appeared the exam successfully. After one week, one morning I had to go through news paper headlines about APRJC results. I was so anxious and turning to inside pages where complete details of results published. I got state 3rd rank in the entrance test.

Failure of the fourth estate in Andhra Pradesh

Media has been playing crucial role in Indian society right from colonial to independent era. Indian freedom fighters, includes extremists and moderates, widely used media to popularize Indian nationalism and patriotism to rebel against British imperialism.Ramnath goenka of Indian Express remained as icon of freedom of speech for his critically acclaimed articles on Indira Gandhi and Amabanis. Constitution guarantees freedom of speech to media by granting autonomy and independence in publishing news content. Media has been misutilising the constitutional right by making no difference between¬† advertisements and editorials by coining a new phrase ‘advertorials’, particularly in Andhra Pradesh. Here, the¬† clones of Goebbels¬† have been using media as a propaganda device¬† for their concentration of political and economic power.

In Andhra Pradesh, media emerged as a profitable business. There are 10+ news channels across Andhra Pradesh and been acting as affiliations to various political ideologies and parties. Now, media is trying to surpass and side track Telangana agitation. One week ago, one news channel tried to defame Governer Tiwari by publishing pictures of¬† body massage¬† done by teen girls as sexually molested. Now, TV5 channel broad casted controversial news item on Russian based magazine ‘The Exile’ allegations on Ambani’s (Mukesh Ambani & Anil Ambani) role in the death of Y.S Rajashekara Reddy in air crash. Immediately Sakshi and Tv9 followed Tv5 and broad casted controversial news items on baseless rumours.I immediately googled about ‘The Exile’ magazine, to my surprise I learnt that it is a B graded magazine which has no credible news network which published¬† YSR death conspiracy in the very September month. The so called magazine has been banned in Russia and updating from American soil with mediocre columnists and journalists by sensationalizing rumors and fantasies disregarding ethics and moralities.

Excess violence evoked across Andhra Pradesh and people have been vandalizing all the available reliance outlets and cell towers. Congress leaders across Telangana and Andhra regions called for Bandh in protests of alleged rumours. Is this is the responsibility of MLA’s and MP’s to take such idiotic and utter foolish mid night decisions from non reliable news items. The only available solution for this kind of crisis is to terminate and ban all the channels which ignored the very foundations, duties and responsibilities of media. Will this so called channels are ready to pay the damage done in vandalizing and destroying the reliance properties across Andhra Pradesh? They must pay for their negligence and over anxiety which costs crores of rupees. This news must have been pampered by capitalists and politicians to dilute the issue of Telangana slogan and also to drive to presidential rule for their political interests.

Shame on Andhra Pradesh media

saffron fading?

Is saffron charisma lost its credibility among poor and down trodden? Did congress attract this mass from Hindutva to development raaga? BJP’s and its alliance debacle at Parliament elections and the latest assembly polls of Maharashtra, Haryana and Arunachal Pradesh raised plethora of questions regarding the role of saffron parties in mainstream politics. This victory signifies BJP’s inability and incapability of turning anti incumbancy in the form of votes due to Raj Thackeray’s foul play of splitting Hindu nationalistic vote bank.

Myriad of inner dimensions have been associated with the failure of BJP besides Raj Thackeray influence. I would like to recall some of them.

1) BJP’s lack of leadership and span of command.

2) Lack of organisition and co operation among saffron parties.

3) Great debate among hindu nationalistic intellectuals regarding  Jinnah’s role in Indian freedom struggle and his commitment to secularism ( I wonder how far Jinnah related to contemporary Indian nationalism).

4) Lack of proper campaigning

5) People still in the hangover of congress stupendous victory at parliament elections and the role of NREGS and Loan waiver schemes in middle class families.

Pertinent questions to raise:

1) will BJP  appoint new leader for Loksabha?

2) will BJP pose a new prime ministerial candidate instead of Adwani?

3) Will BJP¬† give up the ‚ÄúGreat Debate‚ÄĚ on Jinnah role?

4) Will BJP ready to give up ‚ÄúRam mandir‚ÄĚ slogan ?

5) will BJP restructure its committees to give oxygen to the saffron movement.

India ranked 134th in HDI

India did not achieve any progress in Human Development Index in the Human Development Report published by the UNDP(united nations  development project) by retaining the 134th rank. Interesting fact  is  India unable to perform well in the fields of primary health, Nutrition, basic amenities which are the key indices for calculating Human development Index ,despite we are maintaining  good track record in economic and finacial sectors. This is a perfect instance for the economic disparities and disequilibrium of Indian society. Leading Economists Amartya Sen-Mahbub ul Haq unveiled the formula for calculating Human Development Index.

The HDI combines three dimensions:

* Life expectancy at birth, as an index of population health and longevity
* Knowledge and education, as measured by the adult literacy rate (with two-thirds weighting) and the combined primary, secondary, and tertiary gross enrollment ratio (with one-third weighting).
* Standard of living, as measured by the natural logarithm of gross domestic product per capita at purchasing power parity.

Kancha Ilaiah- Dalit Idealogue

kancha Ilaiah, Professor of political science of Osmania University, is considered as as part of influential trinity(Kancha Ilaiah,Bojja Taarakam and Katti Padma rao) who strive progressive Dalit movement and politics in Andhra Pradesh. There is a wide belief among general public that Kancha Ilaiah has dalit background but he hailed from OBC of ‚ÄúGolla‚ÄĚ caste. Despite his scholarly experience in political science, he came to lime light with historical research papers and strong criticisms on Brahmanism, higher castes and Hindus. He is enough proud to consider himself as anti Hindu. He baptized Buddhism and wrote several research papers on buddhist history and philosophy.

His famous work ‚Äúwhy iam not a hindu‚ÄĚ acclaimed positive and negative responses from intellectual and scholars from different parts of the world. Some eminent historians like Romilla Thapar tagged Ilaiah as a pseudo historian who approached several fictions to dalit history and thoughts. According to Ilaiah, Hinduism is nothing but a Brahmanism which done a massive cultural destruction of backward classes and dalits. He urges for the need of literacy among dalits and backword classes.Being a Dalit sympathizer, He staunchly supports the candidacy of Mayawathi for prime minister of India by calling Marxists to support her. ‚ÄĚ Hindusim is the only religion in which gods wear destructible weapons and tries to justify the bloody violence‚ÄĚ says Kancha ilaiah in several interviews.

Gandhism and its legacy

Mohan Das Karam Chand Gandhi, most popular name of modern India and also refer as a Father of Nation, made indelible impression among millions of Indians with his weapons of non violence and truth. I have read his autobiography which was written in excellent english and signifies his writing capabilities. It was ” Lage raho Ho Munna Bhai” revived the essence of Gandhism and non violence at this very age of violence.

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was born in Porbandar on 2 October 1869 in Hindu Modh community. His father was the diwan (Prime Minister) of the eponymous Porbander state. At the age of 13 Mohandas was married to 14-year old Kasturbai in traditional arranged marriage. Later, he moved to England for the completion of Law. Later came back to India and left for south Africa for practicing Law. Gandhiji was actively participated in the Civil rights movement in South Africa for the protection of Indians and black’s rights. Gandhi had been inspired by American Henry Thoreau civil disobedience movement and made a great mark.

Gandhiji arrived India at 1915 and is said to be avid follower of Gokhale, famous congress moderate. We should observe the structure of congress party before Gandhi became active at mainstream politics. Extremist wing comprises Tilak, B.C Pal, Lajapath rai, Sri Aurobindo were the leading forces of Indian freedom struggle. Interesting aspect is this people were highly inspired by Hindu vedanta and tried to mix the concept of Indian freedom struggle with Mystified vedanta. There was a crisis between moderates and extremists whether to opt violence or non violence for the congress party stand in liberation of India. After political retirement of Sri Aurobindo, Tilak’s incarceration at Burma weakened Extremists attempts.

Gandhiji captured congress and implemented strategies in a non violent methods and he was succeeded for getting freedom for India. But Gandhiji’s attitude towards Bhagat Singh, Subash Chandra Bose and Ambedkar are enough controversial in Indian history. Historians opine, Gandhiji could have escape Bhagat Singh from hanged to death by negotiating with Britishers. Mild response observed among congress moderates even after the brutal death of Bhagath Singh and desecration to his body by the tyranny Britishers. Subash chandra Bose was elected as Indian National Congress president in 1939 tripura session by defeating Pattabi Seeta Ramayya who was supported by Gandhi and Nehru with a huge margin. Congress seniors and Gandhian supporters were reluctant to extend co operation to Netaji. Netaji had to quit office and from presidentship of INC. Later Netaji resigned from congress and fled away to Japan via Germany in a miraculous heroic escape. Gandhiji even called parents not to send their children for the recruitment of Netaji’s INA¬† (Indian National Army). Despite having ideological difference with Gandhi, Netaji didn’t hesitate to praise the heroism and credibility of Gandhi by referring him as a “MAHATMA” in radio¬† which used to broadcast from Germany.

Vangapandu’s Remix of revolutionary song

vangapandu

Iam not a communist, but I have a¬† respect towards communists and socialist school of writers due to my respect towards great Karl Marx . What Vangapandu wrote and praised the late YSR with his famous “Em Pillado” song is a perfect instance of deep rooted hypocrisy. I wondered with his blackmailing attitude with Allu Aravind during¬† em “pillado song” controversy which is said to have incorporated in blockbuster hit “Magadheera” without prior notice to Vangapandu. He used to question the validity of democracy and political leaders claiming political power at the cost of inequalities at soceity. Worst thing is he even praised YS Jagan claiming he is the perfect scion of YSR political kingdom. He lost his credibilty as a true socialist artist.Vangapandu turned as a shame to¬† revolutionary writers and artists associations which have¬† commendable history across Andhra Pradesh social and political movements from decades. Vangapandu will remain among bourgeois club for his deliberate appeasement of YSR family.

Why iam an atheist – Bhagat Singh

Bhagat singh, the name itself a symbol of revolution and patriotism. While reading research papers and history books,¬† I was moved by his stand and ideology on various issues at his very age of 24 years. I had a feeling that Bhagath singh was a extremist approached violent path from young blood, later I¬† confessed that he was also a great philosopher. India Today published in a survey that Bhagat sing is the greatest indian with the 27% of indians approval, Netaji managed to get 2nd slot with 17%. Bhagath singh was initially gandhian and inspired by gandhi non co-operation movement. Gandhiji’s recall of non co-operation movement and Lala Lajpath Rai death which resulted from brutal lati charge made a greater impact on Bhagath Singh. He had adopted a violent path for the liberation of India.

“Why iam an atheist” is an essay written by Bhagath singh who got vexed with belief in god during his imprisonment days prior to his death. Surprising fact is¬† Bhagath Singh was active participant of¬† Swami Dayananda Saraswathi Arya Samaj during his teenage. Later, Bhagat singh drawn inspiration from Marxist and Anarchistic school of philosophers Karl Marx, Friedrich Engels, Vladimir Lenin, Leon Trotsky and Mikhail Bakunin. In this essay, Bhagat condemned the presence of god claiming he has witnessing¬† poverty and human suffering of millions of people as just like a king nero who fiddled when Rome was being burnt . Though iam not an atheist, I was convinced by the anger and displeasure of Bhagat singh who dream a free and poverty less India. Interesting aspect is both the SFI and ABVP, student wings of communistic and hindutva idealogies, have been trying to identify and locate their ideology with the legacy of Bhagath Singh. I always feel, people remember Bhagat Singh¬† but not his revolutionary¬† ideology,¬† sacrifice, humanism and¬† great patriotism.

The Polyester Prince: The Rise of Dhirubhai Ambani

The Polyester Prince: The Rise of Dhirubhai Ambani by Hamish McDonald

Dheerubhai Ambani, the most popular name of modern Indian business, is still in the minds of Indians despite his physical demise. Hamish MC Donald has made a critical interpretation of Ambani’s transition of normal man into a Business Tycoon who allegedly influenced mainstream politicians for the commercial benefits of his business unethically. This book was written in 1998 and has been banned in India due to the heavy pressure from Ambanis. You can find this books at bombay streets for nominal cost which are smuggled. Maniratnam has been inspired by this book for making of “GURU” with Abishek Abhachan . Mani Ratnam also depicted numerous scenes from the source of this¬† book. This book also highlighted the rivalry between Dheerubhai Ambani and Nusli Wadia(grandson of Mahamad Ali Khan Jinna) who were allegedly tried to assassinate each other. Their rivalry remained as a black spot of Indian corporate history. In the film Guru, Mithun Chakravarthy played Ramanth goenka role while Madhavan played Journalist Guru Murthi role. Interesting aspect is Guru Murthy was hugely suffered by Ambani on the various charges and even jailed unlike the ‘GURU” movie description where Abishak Bachan didn’t touch Madhavan. Mani Ratnam must have been pampered by Ambanis. Though this book is mandatory for the people who aspiring a career in corporate sector and entrepreneurship, but¬† special kind of fiction has been added by author¬† to¬† sensationalize the book and his name. Readers should be very cautious while reading the book and to make conclusions on Dheerubhai’s character.

Allopanishad

Allopanishad is a pseudo upanishad which purportedly injected among valid upanishads. Sri Aurobindo, Dayananda Saraswati and Swami Vivekananda ruled out the validity of Allopanishad (ALLA+UPANISHAD) by citing ‘Mukthikopanishad’ which endorses the list of 108 valid upanishds.

They have claimed that this must have been written during Akbar regime when he started Din Illa-hi religion(mixture of Hinduism and Islam) which couldn’t attract people.

Akbar grand son Dara Shikoh was an avid reader of Upanishads and Vedanta who concluded and supported the similarities between Islam’s oneness of god and Vedanta’s Brahma description. He has translated 50 Upanishads in Persian with the help of acclaimed¬† poet Jaganath Pandit.

The Upanishads are many, and said to be one hundred and eight, but some declare them to be still larger in number. Some of them are evidently of a much later date, as for instance, the¬†Allopanishad¬†in which Allah is praised and Mohammed is called the Rajasulla. I have been told that this was written during the reign of Akbar to bring the Hindus and Mohammedans together, and sometimes they got hold of some word, as Allah, or Illa in the Samhit√Ęs, and made an Upanishad on it.

So in this¬†Allopanishad, Mohammed is the Rajasulla, whatever that may mean. There are other sectarian Upanishads of the same species, which you find to be entirely modern, and it has been so easy to write them, seeing that this language of the Samhit√Ę portion of the Vedas is so archaic that there is no grammar to it

– Swami Vivekananda in ‘Lectures from Colombo to Almora’

~ If you have not read the Atharva Veda, come to us and look through its pages from beginning to end, or you may go to any person who knows that book and read with him all the verses given in its twenty chapters. You will never find the name of your Prophet in it.

And as regards Allopanishad it is not given in the Atharva Veda or in its ancient commentary, called the Gopath Braahama or in any of its Shaakhaas (branches). We surmise that some one wrote it in the reign of the Emperor Akbar. Its author appears to have been a man who knew a little of Sanskrit and Arabic, because in its text both Sanskrit and Arabic words occur. For example, the Arabic words Asmallam Ille and the Sanskrit words Mitra and Varuna occur in the above passage and the same is seen throughout the whole book.

– Swami Dayananda in ‘Satyartha Prakash

Some of the Upanishads are, no doubt, quite modern, for mention is made even of an Allahupanishad.

Max Muller in ‘Upanishads’ Page lxvii

Pandit Satyabrata Samasrami mentions even an Allopanishad, or the Upanishad of Allah, the shameless production of some sycophant of the Mussalman rulers of India.

–¬†¬†Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay, poet of Vandematram,¬† in ‘Bankim Racanavali’ lll:l68

In the days of Akbar an Upanishad was again composed with the object of converting Hindus into Musulmans ‚ÄĒ and it was called Allopanishad. How strange !.

Devendra Nath Tagore (father of Rabindra Nath Tagore and Brahma Samaj pioneer) in  The autobiography of Maharshi Devendranath Tagore

On the occasion of Akbar Badshah’s coronation, these Yogis recited Allopanishad in vedic metres and blessed him. His favourite Queen Devi Choudharani recited these mantras while doing Tulsi Puja, praying for his long life.

Indian literature: Volume 41 , page 175, Sahitya Academy

Allopanishad All√§s√ľktam¬† probably the work of a Hindu converted to Islam.

Albrecht Weber, famous German Indologist, in¬† ‘Indische Streifen, eine Sammlung von bisher in Zeitschriften ( Indian Strip, a collection of far smaller papers in journals)’

Some upanishads are written by self-seeking Brahminism as demanded by expediency and when emperor Akbar was toying with the idea of a new religion Dil-Il- Adi, the Brahmins had written for him, a new upanishad called Allopanishad.

S. N. Sadasivan in ‘A social history of India’¬† –Page 178

Even the contention that a certain Allopanishad, pointing to a Vedic reference of Allah and the prophet Mohammed, is authoritative is shown to be a falsification.

The Quarterly review of historical studies:

Page no 27, Volume 28 , 1988, Calcutta, India.

Allopanishad Islamic Works Allopanishad, also known as Alia Upanisad, is a celebrated work of Sanskrit literature. It was written by a Hindu courtier (16th Century) of Emperor Akbar, which was an apocryphal chapter of the Atharvaveda.

N.Singh in ‘Encyclopaedic Dictionary of Pali Literature’

Volume 1 Page 40

Texts called “Upanishads” continued to appear up to the end of the British rule in 1947. The Akbar Upanishad and Allah Upanishad are examples having been written in the 17th century, at the instance of Darah Shikoh, in praise of Islam

¬†¬†¬† – Harry Oldmeadow ¬† in¬† ‘Light from the East: Eastern Wisdom ¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬† for¬† the Modern West’ – Page 37

Some count up to 200 Upanishads, others up to 100. Barth says that the number of the Upanishads may go up to 250, including the Allah Upanishad that was composed at the time of Akbar

¬†¬†¬†¬†¬† – Anthony Elenjimittam in ‘The Upanishads: Isa, Katha,

Mundaka, Mandukya’¬†¬†Page 10

Over the centuries, new upanishads have been composed. Thus, for example, in the 17th century the Mogul emperor Shah Jahan’s Son wanted an Upanishad to be written dedicated to Allah, the Islamic nomenclature for God. This gave rise to the Allopanishad.
